This 2 meters 17 long grand piano was created with the harmonic structure of the grand piano of 2 meters 04, heir of the mythical Pleyel no 3 model, chosen by the greatest concert pianists like Alfred Cortot.

Andrée Putman designed this piano as the instrument crystallised into a unique luxury object, transformed into a life-size musical box refined to novel proportions, wih a milky way painted inside the lid in indigo and navy blue lacquer and set with constellation of stars. The music stand and piano prop in lacquered checkerboard pattern remind of the designer’s style.
A marriage between design and music, curved and straight lines, black lacquer and the blue milky way with its constellation stars, keyboard and checkerboard, an interface between music and the decorative arts, between piano and design.
